Diving head first into fall

I love this time of the year. Gone are the hot, humid and hazy days of summer. Don't get me wrong, I'll take a summer day over a winter day 100% of the time, but there's just something about the fall that makes it the best season of the year. The cool, crisp nights and mild, dry days. The amazing foliage in place of the bland white of winters and the deep greens of summer. I love the smells that permeate the air in fall, especially wood smoke.

Every fall I am reminded of visiting an apple orchard with my dad when I was younger. After picking apples, I loved walking into the little store and smelling the fresh baked apple pies and the hot apple cider. Um! that cider was so good. I haven't been to an orchard in so long; I'll have to visit one again this year. I am also reminded of the joy that jogging used to bring me. When I jog in any season other than fall, all I can think about is the pain. But jogging in the fall always makes me pace myself and enjoy the weather and nature a lot more.

Another reason fall is so good is that my birthday, Halloween and Thanksgiving all fall in the fall

Autumn is definitely the best season here in New England. When winter comes, though, we'll all have our chance to complain mightily. ;-)

Very nice description of the season. If someone asked me to describe fall you'd have just ripped words out of my head in this post. I love fall too, for some reason it gives you that feeling of unstopable nostalgia. Very nice words.
